First off, THANK YOU. We appreciate you taking the time to read about what has been happening to Ben and caring enough about him AND future students that you have signed, donated, shared, written letters, or called. Whatever you are able to do is so so very meaningful to us.
As I am emotionally able (this is all hitting me again as I try to write about it) I will share more, as it is important that people hear the extent of the violations to Ben's privacy, intentional discrimination and then RETALIATION for daring not to crumple up and disappear, and the damage this has caused, not just to Ben, but to our whole family.
Yesterday I added contact information for decision makers to this petition. I'm taking things in chunks I can manage. What that means is that when the petition hits certain milestones, an update is automatically sent to them - Board members, Presbyterian Church administration, State of New Mexico Department of Education, etc.
The next such milestone is 500 signatures. We are currently at 386. I have no yardstick for such things, but it's been 2.5 days and I feel like that's decent traction.
I know it is a big ask, but can you help me push this out to the community so we can hit 500? Share this petition with some narrative so people know what it's about, on your social media, or email a few people who you know care about LGBTQI rights, or even tag some folks to the petition on social media?
We appreciate any and all efforts in this fight to ensure that no future students have to live through this kind of pain.
