Close the Mini Zoo at Club Turan Prince World in Turkey
The Issue
I have always been an animal lover and that's why I decided to book a stay at Club Turan Prince World in Side, Turkey. The resort's advertisement of a 'Petting Zoo' drew me in. I wanted to experience a place where I could engage safely and respectfully with animals. However, nothing could prepare us for the distressing reality we found!
Upon arrival, I was horrified to find the animals in awful conditions. Falsely to the resort’s cheerful ads showing a lady holding a rabbit on green grass, the Mini Zoo was far from a petting zoo. Signs cautioned that the animals will bite and touching them was not allowed. The enclosures were small and badly maintained. The horse looked neglected with sore, cracked hooves, and I witnessed two dogs living in distressing conditions, a fate no animal should endure.
Leaving the Mini Zoo was heart-wrenching. These animals are suffering in unacceptable conditions, deprived of the care and space needed to thrive, not to mention any form of love or attention. As someone who passionately believes in the humane treatment of all living creatures, it was painful to see such disregard for their well being.
Turkey's standards seem far removed from what we consider basic rights for animals in the UK, and it’s crucial to address this discrepancy. By closing this Mini Zoo, we can send a powerful message against the neglect and mistreatment of animals. It is vital that Club Turan Prince World establish appropriate and compassionate standards for animal care, or cease housing animals altogether.
Please join me in calling for the closure of this Mini Zoo at Club Turan Prince World, Side, Turkey. Together, we can ensure that these animals are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. Sign this petition to advocate for their welfare and to urge the authorities to act swiftly and decisively.
