Loro Parque in Tenerife, a popular tourist attraction, is in reality a prison for animals. Here, over 400 species, including dolphins, orcas, parrots, gorillas, and tigers, are kept in cruel conditions for the sake of entertainment and profit.

We demand the closure of Loro Parque for the following reasons:

1. Exploitation of animals for entertainment. Orcas and dolphins are forced to perform tricks daily in small tanks, which causes them physical and psychological harm. These intelligent creatures, which swim hundreds of kilometers in the wild, suffer from stress, illness, and early death in captivity. Several orcas and dolphins have died in recent years due to these conditions.
2. Inhumane living conditions. Animals such as gorillas and tigers are confined to enclosures far too small, leading to stress, abnormal behavior, and physical ailments. Since the park's opening in 1972, an estimated 1,500 animals have died from stress and improper care.
3. Acoustic torture. Dolphins use echolocation to navigate, but in confined tanks, these sound waves bounce off the walls, causing immense stress and potential damage to their hearing.
4. Government inaction. Despite numerous petitions and complaints, authorities continue to turn a blind eye to the cruel conditions at Loro Parque. Tourism profits should not justify the suffering of these animals.

We demand:

The immediate closure of Loro Parque and the release of the animals.
The transfer of dolphins, orcas, and other animals to specialized sanctuaries where they can live in more natural conditions.
An end to the exploitation of animals for entertainment and commercial purposes.
