Clipstone Skate Park & Pump track

Clipstone Skate Park & Pump track
The Issue
My daughter and son have been dedicated to perfecting their skating and BMX skills. They have spent countless hours honing their talents, but unfortunately, our beloved town of Clipstone lacks a dedicated space to nurture these young athletes and their growing passion. A local skate park & BMX pump track would provide an invaluable resource for them to further develop their skills while offering a safe environment where they can connect with other youths who share their interests.
Currently, children and teens in our community must travel substantial distances to access adequate facilities, which is not always feasible or safe. Having a local park would not only support my children but would serve as a community hub for local youth to engage in positive and healthy activities. It would also potentially reduce unsanctioned skating and biking in dangerous or unsuitable areas, minimising risks to their safety.
Research shows that skate parks are beneficial in promoting physical health and mental well-being. According to the Tony Hawk Foundation, towns with skate parks see reduced juvenile crime rates and offer a productive outlet for creativity and energy. Investing in a skate park & BMX pump track for our community isn’t just about recreational enjoyment; it's an investment in our future.
Moreover, a local skate park aligns with Clipstone's vision of nurturing community spirit and inclusivity. It’s an opportunity to bring people together, create lasting relationships, and inspire a new generation of athletes and enthusiasts.
My daughter has already taken the initiative to write to the local council with her hopes for the park, and they now have a meeting planned. Let's support her proactive steps by showing that many others in Clipstone are equally passionate about this cause.
Please sign this petition to urge the local council to approve and prioritize the construction of a skate park & BMX pump track in Clipstone. Your support can make a real difference in our community's vibrancy and future.
