Greetings, friends and supporters! Today, we are exactly 5 weeks out from the date Clermont Animal CARE's contract expires. I fear what will happen to the animals of Clermont County if this group is not running our county animal shelter.

I understand they are in negotiations with the county, but the length of these negotiations tells me that there is definitely pushback and that the county is not owning up to its fair share of funding required to run operations. 

The current funding shortfall that Clermont Animal CARE has identified for Clermont County animal services *basic care* is $289,000, which equates to just $1.41/resident. It has been suggested by county Commissioners that residents won't want to pay an increase to support these services. $1.41? Really? I'd gladly pay that, and more to keep animals safe in Clermont County!
