The undersigned residents of Clementon respectfully urge the Borough Council and Land Use Board to oppose any effort to rezone the Clementon Park/Splash World property for multifamily housing.

We understand that the park is up for auction and that there may be little chance it can continue operating as an amusement park. Still, residents are concerned that a developer may seek a zoning change that would allow a large housing development our borough is not prepared to support.

Water and sewer services, trash pickup, and other infrastructure are already strained, and the school is already crowded. Adding substantial multifamily housing would place further demands on these services and affect residents throughout the borough. We do not want another situation like the development on White Horse Pike, which residents believe is not suited to Clementon in its current state.

We respectfully ask the Borough Council and Land Use Board to:

•  Oppose rezoning the property to allow multifamily housing
•  Keep the property’s current amusement-park zoning
• Ensure residents receive notice and a meaningful opportunity to speak before any proposal concerning the property is considered

Clementon’s residents deserve a transparent process and decisions that account for the borough’s existing infrastructure and services. We ask the Council and Land Use Board to respect residents’ opposition to rezoning this property for multifamily housing.
