On May 12, 2026, the Mississippi Court of Appeals issued its decision in Clemell's appeal.

The court did not completely overturn the conviction. However, the court also did not simply close the case. Instead, the court ruled "Affirmed in Part; Remanded in Part," meaning part of the case is being sent back to the lower court for further proceedings.

Our family is currently reviewing the court's opinion and discussing next steps with legal counsel.
