The Proud Boys are an American far-right neo-fascist organization and have already been classified as a terrorist group by Canada and New Zealand. They are a far-right, neo-fascist, and exclusively male organization that promotes and engages in political violence in the United States.

The founder was Canadian alt-right terrorist— hatemonger— Gavin McInnes who walked away from the organization for being “alt-lite”.

Now, Enrique Tarrio, is the leader of the organization. He’s an American domestic terrorist, former FBI informant, and convicted felon who serves as chairman of the Proud Boys. Tarrio was indicted in June 2022 on seditious conspiracy charges, along with four other Proud Boy leaders, for his alleged role in the 2021 United States Capitol attack. Tarrio also served as the Florida state director of the grassroots organization, Latinos for Trump (he is of Afro-Cuban descent).

Recently they have targeted many LGBTQ spaces and events, furthering the violence the marginalized community faces on the daily.

They are a weaponized threat to democracy and the United States of America needs to acknowledge that they are a domestic terrorist group. 

For us to stop them and stop fascism from increasing its hold on America we need to start small, we need our government to take a stand and classify this growing threat for what it is, a terrorist group.
