On May 5th, 2021 Tayler Nicholson reported her son Amari Nicholson missing in Las Vegas, NV.. May 11th, 2021 Tayler's Boyfriend, Terrell Rhodes admitted during a polygraph test that he murdered 2 year old Amari Nicholson. May 12th, 2021 Amari Nicholson's lifeless body was found. On June 10th, 2020 a call was placed with CCDFS with a report of neglect of Amari Nicholson. The case was officially closed July 14th, 2020. This has happened too many times to children all across the world. A case will be opened with CCDFS and days later it will be closed and the abuse still continues until a tragic situation happens just like what happened to little Amari. Our system is failing our children and we have to do better in protecting them. We as a community need to be a voice for these children. 

The point of this petition is to get Clark County to see that we need a better system for these children for missing and abused children. This case of Amari's has proven that our system is broken for both. 

1.) Amber Alerts should be made for any missing child under the age of 18 whether or not a description of a vehicle and / or person description is available. As soon as a child goes missing, their life is on the line. An alert should be sent out with a description of child and the last person they were seen with if not able to give description of vehicle or person. 

2.) When a case is opened with CCDFS the cases should have a more thorough investigation done by speaking to family and friends that may have a concern about the well being of the child. There should be more than one visit if a report is made even if a sign wasn't seen the first time.
