Get Clare College to fly the LGBT+ flag.

Get Clare College to fly the LGBT+ flag.
The Issue
Clare College, Cambridge, has once again refused to fly the LGBT+ Pride flag to mark LGBT+ History Month. We are one of only 2 Cambridge Colleges to not fly the flag at some point in the month, and we believe it is time for this to change. In the last three years, the number of colleges flying flags has over doubled, and Clare is standing worryingly on the wrong side of history on this matter.
Clare College has cited three excuses for this. The first is that the Porters do not like using the flag pole, yet this fails to convince as it is used consistently throughout the year, and seems untrue. The second is a rejection of the homogeneity of flying the flag and celebrating in diverse ways; the only 'diverse' celebration offered by college was a small area of bunting, which was notably out of the way for anyone to see. Small bunting at waist height on a secluded walkway is the opposite of pride. The final reason was the college's distaste for flags, but this is an excuse both Trinity and Trinity Hall used before finally giving way and flying the flag.
We wish to show the College that Clare should show support for its LGBT+ students and staff at this time. The more signatures we can get in favour of this, the better, so please sign and share!
