Undocumented and DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) students are under attack from a racist measure included in Missouri's educational budget that passed in the fall of 2015. This measure would force undocumented and DACA students to pay international and out of state tuition to attend Missouri Universities and community colleges even if they are living here. DACA recipients are lawfully present and are lawfully able to work, pay taxes, receive a drivers license, continue going to school for higher education and meet Missouri residence standards for instate tuition; but nevertheless are being discriminated against and are being denied the right to pay instate tuition at their local colleges and universities. House Bill 2003 is the budget bill that is causing the tuition hike to DACA and undocumented students and will continue to hold potential students back from receiving higher education and probably seek higher education in neighboring states, some of whom offer instate tuition to Missouri students. FIGHT BACK HB 2003 is a collaborative groups of advocates, immigrants and students mobilizing to fight for the re-instating of instate tuition for all of Missouri's students.
