Dear Mr Parker

As I am sure you are aware, the algae bloom in Zandvlei is increasing and covering larger areas of the water body.

Although we have been informed that the old weed harvester has been repaired, it has only been in service intermittently.

Even when it does appear, it is not dealing with the algae situation.

Please can you advise when the long-promised replacement weed harvester will come into service? Please can you provide photographs of the work in progress, and also an update on the expected delivery date?

Furthermore, have the source or sources of the continuing sewage flows into the vlei have been identified?

Please can you advise what plans there are to deal with the situation?
