July Rezonings - Public Hearings: The City is taking advantage of the COVID restrictions to push through many controversial issues in the month of July that impact character house retention and neighbourhood character. These policies are in conflict with neighbourhood-based planning. Please take action.
1. New Petition on City-wide Rezonings covers policies that includes rezonings that impact heritage and character houses and neighbourhood character without context. This includes spot rezonings for towers and other out of scale development.

2. Missing Middle Pilot Motion - July 7 Council meeting (referred for speakers to July 8) for larger MIRHPP towers & broad spot rezonings in RS/RT zones, city-wide. This pre-empts the Vancouver Plan and neighbourhood-based planning that creates out of scale development without any neighbourhood context.
Please send emails to Council to oppose this motion, even if it is only one line, before Wed. July 8 @ Noon. See Motion HERE.

3. A tower project at Birch and Broadway, part of the rental incentive program MIRHPP, is 28 storeys and going to Public Hearing. This project is under the same MIRHPP program as the tower at Alma & Broadway, and others across the city, so neighbourhoods need to support Fairview on this too.
