The amended proposal for the redevelopment of the site at the rear of the Cambridge Hotel goes before the City of Sydney Local Planning Panel on Wednesday 17 July.

I encourage all concerned residents to familiarise themselves with the revised proposal to be aware of any issues that may have an impact on your homes and/or livelihoods.
We are also concerned that the quoted cost of the redevelopment barely slides in under the threshold that would require the matter to be referred to the Central Sydney Planning Committee, which would place a greater burden of compliance upon the developer. We question the accuracy of the numbers as they may be unrealistically conservative. Additionally, it has been noted that the application seeks to split the project into two stages, possibly to keep the cost of each of the stages below the threshold.
A few members of our community have advised that they will be addressing the planning panel directly, and you are also welcome to do so by notifying the secretariat on 9265 9702 or secretariat@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au before 12 midday on 17 July 2019. At very least, we would appreciate if you could attend the meeting to demonstrate to the panel, through your presence, that this is a matter that seriously impacts numerous local residents.
