On May 14th Richmond City Councillors approved 10,764 sq. ft. house plus an additional 3,229 sq. ft. secondary house on farmland, with Councillors, Chak Au, Derek Dang, Ken Johnstone, Alexa Loo, Linda McPhail, and Bill McNulty, in support of the motion. Only 1% of BC is of the high-quality farmland found in Richmond, which is suitable for growing a variety of crops. Sadly, but not unsurprisingly six of our city councillors have decided that it is best to use some of the most fertile lands in British Columbia for growing ostentatious mega-mansions.
