Council Officers today released their delegates report. Despite its manifest failure to meet the requirements of the Planning Scheme, Officers inexplicably recommend that Council support the revised proposal from the developer, leaving residents to fight on alone at VCAT.

Councillors will decide whether to back the development or reject their Officers' recommendations at the Planning Meeting this Wednesday, 23rd October.

If successful it will become the blueprint for future development in the City of Port Phillip, with only the facades of heritage properties retained as window dressing on massive apartment complexes, spanning multiple residential lots.  Unbelievably this is happening in a neighbourhood residential zone covered by a heritage overlay, which Officers are required to restrict to minimal growth.

If you live in the City of Port Phillip and want to prevent the trashing of the heritage properties in your suburb, please contact your Councillor and demand that they reject this proposal.  The contact details of Councillors, as well as the ward map for the municipality, are contained on the council website, linked below:
