We can use your help!!!! Please send a really quick email to the address in this post to the Phoenix Parks guy mentioned below to voice your support for keeping the exception for the holiday tree on Camelback each December! From Camelback Santa: "URGENT--WE NEED YOUR HELP TODAY!!! On this coming Monday, May 22, at 6pm there will be a public hearing on making the Christmas/Holiday tree on Camelback an exception to the policy of the Phoenix Parks Dept. to prohibit any park monuments. SEND AN EMAIL TO: matthew.smith@phoenix.gov , who will share your message with the Phoenix Sonoran Preserves and Mountain Parks/Preserves Committee, which will make a recommendation to the Parks Dept. Board. If you send an email, explain why you support the tree tradition, and be sure to mention you are a Phoenix resident, if that is the case. IF YOU CAN MAKE THE TIME, PLEASE ATTEND THE MEETING --EVERYONE who shows up will have 2 minutes to voice their support (or opposition) to the tree tradition. Feel free to share this post, if you sent a quick email to Matthew, please write "I sent an email in support of the tree tradition" here; if you will attend Monday's hearing, please write "I will be there!". The meeting will be held in the Pueblo Grande Museum Community Room, 4619 E Washington St, Phoenix, AZ 85034 at 6pm. THANKS IN ADVANCE, FRIENDS! (Everyone who writes or attends is guaranteed not to get coal this year.) Feel free to bring a poster--We might have news crews. If you don't voice your support at this time, the tree tradition could permanently be banned; please don't let them take away our unique Arizona tradition."
