Hello Harry Jerome Centre Supporters,

City Council approved the above design concept last July. It includes a 50 meter pool, two gymnasium, a hockey rink, a curling rink, a seniors centre and a new skate park. As the project is being financed by leasing the land of the present Harry Jerome site, taxpayers will probably not even see an increase in their taxes to pay for building the new Harry Jerome Centre. However, the final decision on the New Harry Jerome Centre will be made by the next council based on the detailed design estimates. Therefore, the makeup of City and District councils will have a significant impact on the final decision.

The North Shore Aquatics Society has been contacting declared candidates to ask for their support of the project as proposed. Should the next City Council decide to revisit the design, the entire project could be delayed further and cost more to build. 
District Council also plays an important part of the Harry Jerome project when it comes to operating cost sharing.
