Petition updateMake your voice heard with the Margate (FL) CRA and the Margate Commission.
Is the down-town disaster finally over and in the past?

In last weeks MCRA meeting the CRA Board member Anthony Caggiano made the motion to have the CRA attorney contact the developers attorney and negotiate a reversal of the contract. Basically the CRA has made a decision to get out of the contract and start fresh.
Margatenews.net posted an article on May 13, 2017 in which Mitchell Pellecchia summarizes the meeting and its outcome.
He also provides a link to a survey done between 2012 and 2013. This survey is very interesting, because there is one question in that survey which is exactly the reason why I started this petition. The Question was "What type of housing would you like to see built in the Margate City Center?"
Answer: 66.7% of the residents asked said "NONE"
That is a staggering two-thirds of the population in Margate who do not want more apartments.
So my question now is "Why die the the commission not listen to the residents?"
Anyway, all that is hopefully water under the bridge and now we can plan and built a down-town by the people, of the people and for the people of the City of Margate.
Have a blessed day.
