Second extension for additional inspections denied by city officials

Our efforts so far have been heard and the board members of the CRA are starting to listen to the residents of Margate. So before I start my update I want to thank you for signing this petition and hope that you will help me to get even more signatures. UPDATE: In the last CRA meeting of 2016 on Tuesday, December 13, the developer (New Urban Communities) requested a second extension to further explore ground conditions on lands slated for city center development. City officials have denied this request. What does that mean? Is the downtown project now dead? Not quite... It is now up to the developers whether to move forward with the project or not. The denial does not end the project, but it makes it very difficult if not impossible for New Urban Communities to secure funding for the project, a project a majority of Margate's residents is agains. Despite this small victory the fight is not over yet. Therefore I am asking you to keep talking to your neighbors and friends who live in Margate and ask them to sign this petition to let the Margate Commissioners know that the downtown center the CRA is planning is not what the residents of Margate want.
