Good news for Oak Grove Park and Iowa City in general! Iowa City staff have decided to recommend denial of Verizon's application for special exception. While Verizon still has the option to pursue their application, the City's recommendation to deny makes the likelihood very low. I am keeping in touch with Sarah Walz at City Planning regarding progress of this application and I will share any updates that come my way. Huge thanks to everyone who took the time to sign the petition and even bigger thanks to those who reached out to the city as well.
