Over the past decade, the population and amount of traffic, in Greeley, has increased dramatically.  The intersection of Highway 34 and 83rd Ave is currently signal-free and is an extremely dangerous intersection with traffic accidents, almost every day.  With the alterations that happened to Highway 34 and 71st Avenue, more people are going through the intersection at 83rd Ave.  Twin Rivers Parkway/83rd Ave is also a popular route for trucks and it is a hazard to cross Highway 34 without a traffic signal.  It has become extremely difficult to turn in any direction at that intersection when multiple cars need to go.  Many times, cars become "stuck" in the intersection, creating blind spots and hazardous conditions. By installing a traffic signal at Highway 34 and 83rd Ave, we will be improving the safety of our roads for all citizens.  We will establish clear parameters of when and how to turn, with clearly defined turn lanes and a traffic light.  This will greatly reduce the number of accidents that occur on a daily basis.
