The Day is Upon Us

After a delay in our court date due to "too many criminal cases", our court date is now upon us today at 1pm. Apparently the city attorney acknowledges the fact that the ordinance technically states that we can have the goats as pets, however, their argument will now be about "pen location". Interesting, since we have never conversed about the pen location being an issue. In fact , when Mike Reilly, head zoning and building administrator, told us we could get them, he was informed of where their shelter would be located. So are we fighting the citation that falsly states that we are maintaining a nuisance, or are we fighting something that we were never told was an issue to begin with!?! The City of Fenton is wasting our tax dollars today. Paying for a lawyer and city officials to be in court. I dont understand why they they think their time is so important in making an example of us and tearing at the hearts of two little children. I am feeling skeptical about fighting old men politicians with deep pockets, but I must show our children to stand up for themselves and do the right thing. I do not like being lied to. Tell Sue Osborn, Lynn Markland, Bruce Burton, and Mike Reilly that you don't agree with this or how your tax dollars are being spent!
