I emailed the city manager today requesting to solve this outside of court. I outlined the facts including the city ordinance describing goats as "domesticated" and their defination of a "pet" states that they are domesticated animals commonly kept as pets. We have Nigerian goats and miniatures (such as Nigerians and pygmys) are primarily kept as pets and are domesticated animals. This is also spelled out this way by the USDA. We also reminded him that we went to City Hall before getting the goats and got permission by the zoning and building administrator who stated last year "just keep it clean, Shaun". The woman at the desk had told my son "you must be the luckiest little boy ever!"
Media news and newspapers are wanting to do stories. We are waiting to hear back from the city manager before making the decision to do so.
Thank you again for all of your support!! From our family, and especially from Rocket and Bambi!
