Being born in Cleveland, I have an understanding of this city and its people. Also as a filmmaker, I think like a person who is an artist and knows what the needs of filmmakers are. I wanted to expand a little on my vision, but not too much, because some people have a habit of taking ownership of things like they were the sole one who created it. For example, many people helped with the Tax Incentive, but the current Film Commissioner is quick to take all the credit for it. I am certain, he believes the Russo Brothers never heard of Cleveland before he convinced them to shoot here as well.
So let's dive into the things I plan to do and it will take support from the City of Cleveland and may involve setting up a new organization that is not solely dependent on government dollars
ENGAGE: A Marketing campaign targeting Hollywood trades like "The Hollywood Reporter" like other Film Commissions
ENCOURAGE: Local filmmakers by connecting with sources of funding so they can get their productions in distribution
EMPOWER: The business community and individual investors to be involved in local and Hollywood productions.
Details will be shared with the Board of the Greater Cleveland Media Development Corporation. Although it may be necessary to set up a new more active organization that recognizes the importance of the local community.

For a Contrasting Viewpoint, and why I feel there is a need for a Change if we want to create an industry, it is necessary to look at a presentation by the Current Film Commissioner who has been in place since 2006.
