Trying to build the new County Jail in a residential area with several schools within 1 mi. We do not wish this jail to be built in any residential neighborhood in the city of Cleveland especially not Ward 12 next to Ward 5. We also do not want other communities to have to deal with the same issue. We were never consulted as a resident or residence. No one ever sent out any information concerning the new building of the Cleveland County Jail. We are against this, and against it going into any other neighborhoods where there might be children or schools close by. If you do not wish this jail to be built in Ward 12 Slavic Village neighborhood North Broadway neighborhood please sign the petition. This proposed County Jail would be on the edge of Ward 5 as well. We are trying to bring the community back, businesses that will thrive. We do not even have a high school for our children. Why would we want a county jail in Ward 12 instead of a high school. This petition is very important to many  of us. Having a county jail built in neighborhoods is not a good idea, when they are released they go in any direction they choose, personally we do not wish them to be next to schools and neighborhoods. We are not saying put it in somebody else's backyard, what we are saying is put it in an industrial area where there is no neighborhoods full of homes and schools with children. There are so many areas in the city of Cleveland vacant industrial sites vacant factories, why not choose one of those sites.
