Last night this petition garnered 300 signatures from purely our networks and sharing - no advertising spend or publicity!
Imagine what the response would be if it had more distribution?
Nonetheless, 300 sends a strong message that there is both:
- A community need and support for this proposal, but also;
- A lack of supply.
Speaking of which, the current concept design caters for basketball and multipurpose courts, see the visual representation here:(https://www.dit.sa.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0006/760956/Ovingham_Concept_Design.pdf
Based on that, I mapped all the basketball and multipurpose courts I could find within the City of Charles Sturt to understand how much supply was present for basketball and multipurpose courts and discovered 28 of them already in existence in the Council area: (https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1y1oVjHCzUaYpzVSUNwJivPdxtCvbPwZL
If we can get 500 signatures on this petition, that may send a really strong message about community need, support for this proposal and to rethink basketball and multipurpose courts as a solution for the open space under Ovingham Bridge.
THE ASK...
Even though you have already signed your support, what you can do to continue to help this cause is to share the petition link https://www.change.org/VertSnotDead though any communication channel you have:
- Word-of-mouth;
- SMS;
- Phone;
- Printed flier;
- Messenger;
- WhatsApp;
- Viber;
- Facebook;
- Instagram;
- Twitter;
- Reddit;
- SnapChat;
- LinkedIn;
- Pinterest;
- YouTube;
- Etc.
Yes, you likely have already shared the link before, but people seeing it get busy and forget to come back as sign, or they it gets lost in a feed the first time and so on...
As the old hospitality saying goes: "if you want people at your party, you need to invite them and continue to remind them that they need to RSVP."
This party needs them!
Thank you.
