The Issue
We are trying to save a good family dog that loves everyone including his human cubs. He made a mistake by getting out of his home and circling a lady while there was a confrontation with other dogs. He merely circled the situation and did not bite a human nor animal involved. He is now sentenced to death by the City of Casper Wyoming.
To the children he raised, he is family, he is brother. He is not a pitbull to them, he is their dog and a large part of their lives. They love him. This action against this family has created immense heartache, feelings of loss, depression, financial strain and the children can't stop praying someone will save King. Please sign the petition so we can convince the courts and they hopefully will see the unjust pain, both emotionally and financially that have put onto this family during yet another larger crisis happening. This is immensely unjust and not fair to the children that love him!

In August, a family’s three (3) APBT (American Pit Bull Terriers) broke through the family’s screen window when a woman with a child and corgi dog walked past their house. They went to greet and play with a family. Unfortunately the woman reacted quickly, panicked, screamed and picked up her corgi while kicking at the dogs. The female pups got into a tussle with the corgi and unfortunately got bitten, though THE CORGI IS FINE.
All 3 pups were quarantined for 10 days and easily passed all the tests they were given ... though the judge in the City of Casper Wyoming on this case has ordered the male pup, KING, who wasn’t involved at all ... to be destroyed. KING is rather verbal ... and was circling the scene and barking ... so unfairly, he’s bearing the brunt of this. He’s a good boy .. and has never harmed any person nor animal. Neighbors have even been writing letters about these animals' good behavior.
THERE’S A STAY OF EXECUTION IN PLACE for KING tho he was sadly ordered to be surrendered to Metro Animal Shelter until the case is reviewed. The females are still at home.
A plea for help went out among Animal Advocates. Rescues and trainers from all over began coming together. A wonderful out of state rescue has agreed to back the dogs, understanding that this was a horribly unfortunate accident.
When the family went to file an appeal, they were presented with having to post an enormous $3700 cash bond along with filing fees of an additional $240. The family is also required to pay court costs and fines $1660.00. And there’s a cost of 40.00 per day boarding charge at Metro Animal Shelter.
A friend of the family has set up a fundraiser due to further unfortunate circumstances. The family is unemployed and doesn’t have the money to fight this ... as this amount was far beyond what the family could possibly afford. And another family friend was kind enough to hire an attorney. We are desperately praying that KING will all be allowed to go home as well ... and be reunited with the/ his family ... even being labeled as “vicious animals” (which they are not). If so labeled, they also must provide them with a completely enclosed kennel, secure fencing added to the top and bottom, and muzzled with 3 foot leashes when out in public. The female pups are already attending behavioral classes at “Sit Means Sit” Central Wyoming Dog training. The family has done everything the court required them to do ... and more.
They also just had the special gift of a baby ... such a happy event ... though darkened by this unfortunate mishap. The family is DEVASTATED. Their older, tho still very young, children have been raised with these dogs. It’s as though they are truly killing a member of their family. One would think in the times we’re living in ... in this day and age ... the law would be more savvy about these issues. There have been far worse cases where a person or other dog/ cat is (badly) harmed or killed... and the pet was allowed to return home when all said and done..
Now remember ... THE CORGI IS FINE ... which is truly KEY ... AND THIS IS THE FIRST AND ONLY OFFENSE ... and KING DIDN’T EVEN BITE ANYONE OR DO ANYTHING WRONG. In truth, it would be a crime against nature to kill this pup. KING definitely doesn’t deserve to die over this mishap. He did nothing other than circle the scene and bark.
Please help us help them save KING, and keep him alive and at home.
