Let’s get more signatures for this petition, Boroondara change the date

Hi all, I wanted to let you know that we now have 130 signatures on this petition. Thank you so much for your support!

This is one of the Boroondara Reconciliation Network priority campaigns for 2023.  

We do not. of course, expect to get a result by this Thursday 2023 Invasion Day, but we wanted to start it in January to build up momentum, and plan to present it to Council sometime around Sorry Day / Reconciliation week in May.

Would you help me get more signatures by sharing this petition with ten other people on social media? Facebook groups, SMS chats, Twitter, email and WhatsApp all work well. If more of us sign, we can’t be ignored!

One way to do it is to click the heart symbol in a comment and it will give you Twitter and Facebook options. You can then add your own text such as this: Please support this petition to get Boroondara Council to Cease holding citizenship ceremonies on January 26, commencing in 2024, and advocate to the Federal Government to change the date. Last chance before this Invasion Day, but it will keep running until May.

Then share it into groups (but be aware of group rules, of course) and with friends by direct message.
