Thank you to everyone who has signed. I presented my presentation to the City of Bedford City Council last night. It was very informative to them as it opened their eyes to the discrepancies in our city offerings compared to surrounding cities. Our new city manager that started in August was very receptive, as was the Mayor. The City Manager would like to see about creating a partnership with HEB ISD to work on a solution. They would like to keep the conversation going and recognize that this is a gap. It was stated that the fact that there is still space on the Park plan for the tennis courts is meaningful and potentially could get them there at a future date. The funding is what is needed. They would like to stay in touch with me and see updates from this petition. The mayor stated that If there are things that can be accommodated and the public wants it, they are prepared to work on it.
Below is the email I received from the Mayor after the presentation.
Ms. Rubio,
Thank you again for coming to City Council this evening. Your presentation was very informative and helpful for the Council. Let’s continue this conversation and look for opportunities to make this work out for everyone. Thank you again and I really appreciate

Please keep sharing for the more interest, the sooner we can make this happen. I will follow up with them and look for opportunities to get the courts planned. Thank you for your support. This will continue until we have City tennis courts again.
