Hello Friends,
We hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy!
We wanted to inform you of the positions held by the Tustin City Council candidates on the issue of the Costco mega gas station at 2655 El Camino Real (next to Tustin Marketplace). Please see attached video of a recent forum (Costco discussion starts at 1:15:01).
IN SUMMARY
The following four are "Against" the decision for putting a Costco Mega Gas Station on El Camino Real, right next to homes and schools, which will create more traffic congestion (think The District), and problems with air pollution and public safety. The remaining candidates were either "For" Costco gas or indecisive.
1. Kurt Bensworth
2. James Perez
3. Lee Fink
4. Cristian Cusac
As you recall, the 4-1 vote to approve this project was cast last year, after erroneously granting a "pass" from any adequate independent environmental review. This failure of duty prompted our lawsuit which will be heard in O.C. Superior Court on October 23rd (Case No. 30-2019-01113056-CU-PT-CXC).
On Nov 3rd, Tustin will elect 3 (out of 5) new city council members. We need to elect like-minded candidates who represent us and care about protecting Tustin Ranch residents and small businesses moving forward.
WHAT CAN I DO??
- VOTE for: Bensworth & Perez, and Fink.
- Spare an hour or two to help us canvas your neighborhood! The next two weeks are critical.
- Post a lawn sign on your property. We are happy to deliver it to you.
Please reach out with any questions. Time is of the essence!
Thank you.
