City of Pacific Grove to Amend General Plan to Allow STRs

"The city of Pacific Grove had a legal ad in the Herald last week, that said the city is going to amend its general plan in an attempt to make STR in residential zones legal. This is a confession that the STR ordinance from 2010 to date was/is illegal. Under State law, if the city attempts to limit STR in residential areas to say, 250, as planned, that will be illegal. The only legal way to amend the general plan and ordinances to implement the amendment, is to permit ALL homes in residential zones to become STR subject to identical permits.The law requires uniform treatment of all parcels within a zone.
