Tony is a 6 year old, mixed breed dog that is the subject of a court battle between Citrus County and previous owner Bob Schweickert Jr. from Out Of The Box Animal Rescue Inc.. Bob had adopted Tony to a woman by the name of Judy. Judy was attacked and seriously injured by Tony, she surrendered Tony to Citrus County Animal Services and requested he be euthanized on February 24th 2018. For over 14 months now Tony has been in solitary confinement due to the fact he has been declared a dangerous dog by Citrus County Animal Services, and C.C.A.S. does not want to risk innocent lives being harmed.

Despite Tony attacking his owner and having a previous history of aggression and attacks, we the citizens of Citrus County Florida feel no animal should be in total confinement and left to suffer. Tony is undoubtedly suffering and it is inhumane and very cruel to continue allowing him to be confined to a cage 24 hours a day/night; and not be able to go for walks, play, socialize with other dogs, or be petted. Dog Experts would be the first to agree that Tony is indeed suffering being in solitary confinement. 

We petition the Citrus County Commissioners and/or other County Officials "to please help put an end to Tony's suffering immediately". We ask that the Commissioners speak on behalf of the citizens of Citrus County to the Judge(s) *if allowed and/or other County Officials who are handling Tony's case. We beg and plead with the Judge(s) to give his or her final adjudication, and give the Officials at Citrus County Animal Services (C.C.A.S.) the opportunity to end Tony's suffering immediately by whichever way is determined to be best according to the Dog Experts and Judge(s)!

We are confident that the Officials as well as the other caring workers at C.C.A.S. will be relieved also when we all finally know that Tony is no longer suffering.
