This board, as well as former school board members, have publicly attacked me and put my character into question. And why? Because I speak up? Because I ask questions? Because I share information? I have shared facts about this district. But that isn’t well-received, and instead of GPISD owning the facts, they attack the person for speaking up. I’ve been called many things by this district, not once have I been called a liar. But, now the district is attacking my children. Mr. King you sent me a message that read “your family is fair game”, and well, you kept your promise. Some of you sitting on this board are aware of what Mr. King did, some of you may not be aware of what your school board president did so let me share with you.

On March 10th Mr. King made a public post on Facebook where he openly claimed that my child bullied a student in front of an entire classroom. And I quote Mr. King

“ I think everyone should also know the real reason why you fight the school district so hard and hate the entire board.  When your child BULLIED another student in front of the whole class, and then at your demands, none of the school board would have the discipline dismissed. You got ANGRY!!! So let’s quit playing here and get to real business!! You hate us because we don’t pull favors for you, then you turned your back on the entire district as a vendetta.” 

I was shocked, no way would the school board president blatantly lie about a student while also violating their federally protected privacy, under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974.

We pulled all of our children’s student files from GPISD. I can stand here and say with 1000% certainty that my children have never bullied anyone. 

You also stated in your post. And I quote Mr. King

“You block us from all of your gossip groups and never give us a chance to defend our stance. You make everything about you and to fit your narrative and a single-sided story.”

Ironically enough Mr. King, when one of my children called you out on your post, you blocked their account. Seems like you were trying to silence a child to fit your narrative. You went on to say a few more things attacking my character, and though they were still lies, I am not here to defend myself. I am here because you lied about my children.

Let me tell you who my children are: my children are multiple students of character recipients, my children are student council board members, NJHS presidents, thespian club presidents, straight-A students. And that doesn’t even begin to do it justice. Their accomplishments go on much further.

Let me tell you what my children are not: they are not bullies. And they are not going to let you, Mr. King, or anyone, attack them, defame them, or silence them. 

Board, your school board president used my children to further his agenda on discrediting me. That is not just an abuse of power, not just in and of itself bullying, not just absolutely disgusting, but it was a lie. He lied about a CHILD, slandering their character, to help his “cause”. And he did so using “bullying” as the reason. 

Mr. King, bullying is a real thing, happening all over this country, happening in your schools. There are children killing themselves because they are bullied. How dare you belittle that word and those who have been on the receiving end of it. How dare you minuscule the severity of bullying to “help” your cause of attempting to destroy my family.

It should also be noted that there were teachers and staff members of this district who liked Mr. King’s post. They thought publicly slandering a child to promote one's own agenda was likable, some using the heart emoji. This district should be ashamed. How are my wife and I supposed to trust GPISD with our children? How can our kids feel safe in your schools?

You have people afraid to speak up because it is well known, and this incident only proves it further, that this district retaliates. I have numerous messages from people saying “if they did this to your family, what will they do to mine?” Do those of you sitting before me not see a problem with this?

One of my children, after dealing with torment and bullying in your schools, shared this on social media and I quote: “You know what bothers me so much? When people create excuses for bullying. When someone calls someone a name or does something hurtful do not just stand there and do nothing.”

“Mrs. Liles, Mr. Brooks, Ms. Carrillo, Mr. Espinosa, Mr. Hall, Mr. Parra and Superintendent Ellis what are you going to do about it? Are you going to sit by and do nothing? Are you going to remain silent? Are you going to ask Mr. King to step down as President and resign from the board? Are you going to censure Mr. King? Or are all of you complicit in allowing him to lie while bullying children?

By the way, Mr. King, I have been involved in this district long before you sat in that chair. I have always asked tough questions and I have always praised the district when it has done well. And I have no plans on stopping.

I am asking everyone to sign this petition to put an end to childhood bullying. Let's send a clear message to Grand Prairie ISD that bullying of any kind will not be tolerated by Grand Prairie ISD Board Member Aaron King and those that allow him to remain as president of the school board.
