The admitting privileges that Christus Spohn Memorial grants to Dr. Eduardo Aquino enables him to keep his abortion clinic on 1901 Morgan Street in operation under Texas Law. With the passing of Texas Senate Bill 5 in July, 2013, the law now requires a physician performing abortions to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of his facility. Without these privileges the physician is not legally able to perform abortions. The privileges that this Christus Spohn facility grants to Dr. Aquino are the only thing keeping his abortion clinic in operation under the new laws. The irony of this is that Christus Spohn Memorial is a Catholic hospital that states its mission is to "Extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ" and yet is walking in blatant contradiction to its stated mission, morals and religious affiliation by enabling an abortion doctor to continue murdering unborn children in the womb. Signing this petition is adding your voice to those calling for the Christus Spohn leadership to do the right thing before God and man and rescind the privileges given to Dr. Eduardo Aquino, which are a contradiction of the stated values of Christus Spohn and the teachings of Jesus Christ, whom they identify with.
