My daughter is 18 yrs old and had suffered anorexia and complex mental health problems for 4 years. She has been in several eating disorder units since june 2012 and now has been moved 215 miles away from her family and home in surrey to cygnet hospital in Sheffield. When she turned 18 we were told there were no beds in the country so we were left with no choice. We were told she would be there for 6-8 weeks ,until a bed became available at Cygnet Woking she has since been turned down twice for Woking and recently turned down for Cygnet Ealing, but has now been there for 7 months with little hope of a move , she has been on a liquid diet since Xmas and now hasn't eaten for 17 days and is not being treated for her eating disorder as it is low secure mental health unit ,although they encourage her to eat she needs the specialist care of an eating disorder unit as she is not dangerously under weight yet she doesn't meet the criteria for an eating disorder unit so is just being left not eating and her health is deteriorating
