Kentucky needs a EMS license plate

Kentucky needs a EMS license plate
The Issue
The state of Kentucky is one of the very few states that doesn't have a specialty license plate for those who work in Emergency Medical Services. There are emergency management, firefighter, and police plates but its time to recognize emergency medical services.
Those who are a resident of Kentucky and have a CURRENT non-expired state of Kentucky issued EMT or Paramedic card would be eligible for the plate.
The cost and fees would follow current KRS 186.162 guidelines with the following:
key:"SF" means the portion of an initial or renewal fee to obtain a special license plate that is dedicated for use by the Transportation Cabinet;
"CF" means the portion of an initial or renewal fee to obtain a special license plate that is dedicated for use by a county clerk; and
"EF" means the portion of an initial or renewal fee to obtain a special license plate that is mandated by this chapter to be dedicated for use by a particular group or organization.
(bb) Emergency Medical Services
Initial Fee: $45 ($42 SF/ $3 CF/ $0 EF
Renewal Fee $25 ( $13 SF/ $12 CF/ $0 EF)
Customized plate (optional) costs will abide by current KRS rate of $25.00 plus the Initial or Renewal Fee.
Costs:
As of 2016 there were 13,452 EMS providers in Kentucky. Saying 30% would buy a plate would bring roughly $169,495.20 to the state transportation cabinet, $12,106 to the county clerks office for the initial costs, not including personalization or renewal fees.
I hope that everyone and Kentucky can get on board with the rest of the states and make this happen!!
