I recently posted about the Animal Rescue Operator who had 26 charges of animal cruelty and neglect filed against her for starving two dogs to death and for having several emaciated dogs in her backyard. After months of appeals, A judge in Hackensack finally gave the verdict. She was fined $1000 and banned for owning pets for 3 years. Yes, that is all she got. She put the animals through so much suffering and pain, and all she got as a slap in the wrist. This has to change, the laws against animal cruelty in NJ are one of the worst in the country.
