The NJ consumer affairs department can not aid me in my unfortunate case with the CCC, they have sent a letter in response to my outreach to them via complaint form and through my local Senator and Assemblyman. The New Jersey Pet Protection Law does not cover us in this case. (Maybe it's time to change that?) Exact wording from the Attorney General state: “Pet adoption agencies are exempt from the consumer laws of the State of New Jersey, including the Pet Protection Act.” Well isn't that just nice for the countless number of victims there are and will be because of one person who thinks they are getting away with it. I always know that karma has a funny way of getting back at those who hurt others, so hopefully soon, SOMEONE will pay attention! In the meantime, I would highly suggest how to find a reputable adoption agency to adopt from. 1. Be cautious of groups or organization that only communicate online, and that do not want to visit your home first for an inspection. 2. Request veterinary records of the animal and ensure they are up to date on vaccinations; ask for the source of where the puppy has come from and to see it's travel certificate if from out of state. 3. DO NOT buy a puppy under 8 weeks old! 4. Consider adopting from a local animal shelter. It's been confirmed through various contacts that the owner of the CCC is "Paula", whom ran "Paula's Dog House" at one time, that SURPRISE SURPRISE was shut down before. Parvovirus is running rampant among all the foster homes and they don't seem to care. They cry on social media about people wanting to hurt them, yet they don't see the harm they've already left on many of us. They are endangering not only the welfare of their own animals and others, but the new puppies they continue to "foster" in their homes and adopt out to vulnerable new victims. If you have any further information or would like to help support the cause to shut them down, please feel free to contact me or your local government. NJSPCA simply has not done enough in this case, among others. I'm not sure who's attention we need to grab before something can be done.
