During a video call with her lawyer Zhang Keke on 12 February 2022, ZhangZhan's mother revealed that Zhan's situation had improved and she had ended her hunger strike.

She said that her daughter visibly looked better in a video call on 28 January 2022, three days before Spring Festival.

Zhang Zhan had started eating; the authorities had stopped force-feeding her. She had been suffering from severe abdominal pain due to a prolonged hunger strike but this was lessened. She could walk without assistance. She was willing to do some craftwork in prison.

Zhang Zhan's mother "looked less worried and had a smile on her face" during her call with the lawyer on Saturday.

We are greatly encouraged to hear that there is improvement in both Zhan's health condition and her treatment by the authorities.

We will keep watch until ZhangZhan safely walks out of prison.

【张展近况 2022年2月12日更新】

2022年2月12日，张展的妈妈邵文侠女士和张科科律师视频通话。张展的妈妈看上去没有以前那么忧虑，脸上有了一些笑容。

张展的妈妈说，张展现在好了一些。张展的妈妈在2022年1月28日（虎年春节前三天）去上海市女子监狱以视频方式见到了张展。

此前张展的妈妈于2021年11月底、12月底也在该监狱与张展视频通过话。

张展的妈妈说，1月28日这次视频中看到最大的不同是张展身体明显好了一些，也比较牵挂父母家人。张展愿意在监狱里面做一些手工。她开始自主进食，不再被灌食；以前因为长期绝食肠胃比较疼痛，现在肠胃有所恢复；她可以独立行走，不需要他人搀扶。视频通话20分钟后结束，张展也请父母保重身体。

从张展妈妈的上述消息可以看到，张展现在的身体状况比原来好了一点，精神状态也比原来好了一点，当局对她的态度也有所改变。感谢所有关心张展的朋友们、来自全世界各地的支持、声援、祈祷。请大家持续关注张展狱中处境，直至她平安出狱 #自由张展
