Petition updateChili’s: Commit to Meaningful Welfare Standards for Chickens
The Chickens in Chili’s Supply Chain Need Your Help

Mercy For Animals
Jun 23, 2017
With your support, more than 70,000 people have signed our petition urging Chili’s to commit to meaningful chicken welfare standards. Chili’s can’t ignore the obvious: Consumers care about animal welfare and want to support socially responsible companies.
Now we need your help to get this message across to Chili’s executives. Take one—or all—of the actions below to bring Chili’s attention to this issue. If every person who signed this petition took one action, it would send a clear message: Chili’s failure to adopt a meaningful chicken welfare policy will directly affect its business. And please, share this petition to help make our voice even louder.
Email Chili’s president, Kelli Valade, at kelli.valade@brinker.com. Use the message below or a polite one of your own.
Subject: Chili’s: Prohibit your suppliers from torturing chickens
When I heard that Chili’s had failed to take meaningful action on chicken welfare, I was disappointed. How is it acceptable to allow your suppliers to shackle birds by their feet, drag them through electrified water, and slit their throats, sometimes while they are fully conscious? Chili’s must publicly commit to banning these practices from its supply chain just as TGI Fridays, Red Robin, BJ’s, and Ruby Tuesday have already done. I won’t be eating at Chili’s until you do.
