“Our kids, our future” In recent years, there has been an alarming increase in school-related incidents across the country. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 20% of students ages 12-18 reported being bullied at school during the 2019-2020 academic year. Additionally, data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicates that nearly 8% of high school students have been involved in physical fights on school property.

These statistics highlight a pressing need for improved safety measures within our schools. We call upon Wisconsin state officials and local education authorities to implement comprehensive safety protocols, including increased mental health support services, anti-bullying programs/groups, fines for parents and more.  

By taking these steps, we can create a safer learning environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive without fear. Please prioritize the well-being of our children and secure their future. Will they make it?
