Parental rights revoked for parents who avoid paying child maintenance

The Issue

My child’s father has avoided paying child maintenance for nearly 7 years now by working self employed, this means the child maintenance service can not get an attachment of earnings and he chooses what he declared he has earns to the HMRC. He has got a debt of nearly £6000 now (should be more if he declared his actual earnings). The child maintenance service have obtained liability orders but the debt keeps being sent back from the bailiffs as they can not gain contact with him.

I have been advised that if the bailiffs can not get contact from him after this next liability order has been granted they can apply for special measures and have his licence taken off him, passport taken off him or even jail.

I want one of the other special measure to be that a parent who avoids paying child maintenance can have their parental responsibility revoked. Part of a parents responsibility is to provide for a child and I do not believe that if you do not want to pay for your child you should have the privilege of having such rights.

My child’s father has not seen them in over 6 years, no birthday cards, dosnt acknowledge Christmas, has nothing to do with their life never mind providing for them. I need his permission to take my children abroad of which he will not give so my children are missing out. Why should he have this control when he dosnt even do the bare minimum and provide for his children.

I want this change to be made to show parents if you do not do what you need to do as a parent there will be consequence and also to help the parents like my self.
