GOA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY We appreciate the firm stand by RTO that installation of speed governors on Taxis is a must. More than 1000 taxis are going to be off the road for indefinite period as the transport department has not renewed their annual fitness certificates for not installing mandatory speed governors. Hopefully this is implemented strictly as in Maharashtra and Karnataka. Goans are taken for a ride as taxi issue still hangs fire. Goa Legislative assembly is in session, and hopefully the issue of installation of speed governors and status of the app based taxi is debated in the Goa Assembly. We are asking help from the opposition party to bring up the issue. Given that Taxi is the backbone of Tourism industry it is really very strange that app based taxi is ignored by the Government. This would provide better employment to locals and better collection of taxes and revenue rather than Casino fees and Central government doleout. Casinos spoils the environment, has harmful effects on society due to bankruptcy and mental distress. Our MLA's should need to be aware of the competition in Tourism and plan future of Goans. The war for Taxi Revolution will continue. Do help us get more signatures on this petition.
