I am astounded! The numbers on this petition have suddenly skyrocketed, taking a giant leap since last night. We are now up to 149 signatures and growing rapidly. Perhaps this is what is called the "100th Monkey" phenomenon, when an idea reaches a certain number of people, it goes viral.

What this means is that YOU, yes YOU, my neighbors and friends, feel so strongly about this that you have become a promoter as well as a signer. THANK YOU!

This will change things. At the least, I think the leaders at Chico Enterprise-Record, Mr. Gleim, Ms. Allinger, and Mr. Kavoosi, will choose to prominently display on the paper how to easily get removed from the delivery list. At the best, they will turn the paper into an "opt in" paper rather than the "opt out" paper it is now. They could choose to stop delivering it altogether and make it available in public places where people can pick up a copy if they want it.
