Background: Chicago Executive Airport (PWK, formerly Palwaukee Airport), is the primary general aviation airport serving Chicago's north side.

For years, fuel prices at PWK have been far higher than those at other area airports, in part because PWK has not allowed the installation of self-serve fuel facilities to reduce costs.  Of 14 general aviation airports in the Chicago area, only two others do not offer self-serve fuel, and their full-service fuel prices are still well lower than PWK's.

As a result, PWK has lost many based users and itinerant operations, and the remaining fixed airport costs are spread over fewer and fewer users, in a vicious spiral.  PWK has lost almost 60% of its traffic since 2000.

PWK users love the airport, its facilities and proximity to Chicago's North Shore, but cannot continue to pay 44% higher than the median price for fuel in the area.

Please support the installation of self-service fuel at PWK.
