Hello Everyone! We are so close to having 5,000 signatures! I wanted to reach out and thank you all so much for your support in this advocacy effort. Because of your individual support, we are well on our way to seeing the school finally take this issue seriously and possibly enact the changes we are calling for

I also have an update on how we are going to utilize this petition to help enact the change. On August 31st at 5:30pm (MT), The District 12 School Board will be holding a meeting via Zoom. Our petition, in alliance with the “Not Our Mascot” facebook group, will be delivering a "Call to Action" to the board in the form of a binder with all of our supporting materials. A section of the binder will include our petition with all of the signatures as well as selected comments from the “Reason for Signing” section of the petition. Additionally, I will be presenting this petition for the board to consider via Zoom in alliance with other members of the “Not Our Mascot” group. When we have the link information to the Zoom meeting we will post it in another update, so that those of you who want to show their support at the meeting can join and watch our presentation. The more viewers we can get at the meeting the better so please consider marking your calendars for the meeting.

In the meantime, we want to make one final push to collect as many signatures as we can. Please consider sharing this petition one last time on your social media accounts. We will be assembling the binder on the 26th so we have a week to get this petition to 5,000 signatures. Let’s get this goal accomplished!
