For the last year, Cheddar has been subject to increasing problems with anti-social driving. It is destroying our area of natural beauty and our village way of life. It is ruining businesses, putting tourists off returning for visits, making residents of Cheddar feel like the only option is to sell up and move! The inconsiderate behavior of some of the current car and bike enthusiasts is selfish and disruptive. We need our councils to act in placing traffic calming measures in the area, any kind of lawful restrictions will help (not just painting 20mph on the road, which has had NO effect)

Consider an Injunction! A psp order, speed bumps, cameras, road closures at certain times of night.... Anything!

This is not a petition to stop people coming to Cheddar for responsible, organised car (or bike) meets. This is to have something put in place for the drivers that have no respect for the area, especially at night. The noise pollution and unsafe driving is the issue. An Injunction or something similar would help solve this problem and also stop using up police resources

For many, many years Cheddar has been a prime location for car and bike enthusiasts. Originally there has never been an issue. But sadly, in recent years the Gorge and surrounding areas has been attracting a different type of driver. Ones with no regard for the noise they make, The dangers they bring in wrecklessly driving and the impact their litter has on the environment.
