We understand that many of our rural neighbors do not like dense housing developments. It is important to know, however, that industrial development would ultimately be much worse for our region for so many reasons.

One is because once the door is open to industrial in this area, it will continue and be more difficult to stop. Our land and house values will decrease. Our environment will be badly impacted.

We know industrial bring jobs, but so does smart, well-designed residential and mixed-use development that takes advantage of the unique character of our Far-West Charlotte Mecklenburg Catawba region. In fact, smart development like that will increase our property values and our quality of life! Industrial will decrease both.

We continue to meet with Charlotte Mecklenburg staff and council members to let them know our opposition to Rezoning Petition 2020-049 - as well as industrial rezoning overall. They have indicated City Council listens to citizen voices! Let your voice be heard!

We would like to start a Neighborhood Association – that includes all of the far-west Charlotte region and neighborhoods so that we can speak with a larger voice on this and other issues in our region.
