Isle of Palms trying everything to stop S40

This morning at 11 AM the city of Isle of Palms held a three minute long meeting to pass a resolution in opposition to Bill S40. The vote by their council was unanimous. S40 which passed through the Senate with no opposition and then pass through the house is now on the governors desk awaiting his signature. S40 will help secure the rights of all South Carolina residents to access and use our states beaches (Rights currently protected by our state constitution).
This is a Hail Mary by the Isle of Palms (The only beach community in the entire state that is an opposition to this bill) and I would encourage everyone who reads this message and supports this cause to reach out to the Governors office now! Let him know today that it is in the publics best interest to have S40 be signed into law. There are thousands of people paying attention to this issue and the voters will remember how he responds. He must sign the bill and support it’s enforcement.
South Carolina beaches are one of our most valuable natural resources and they are one of the main reasons people love this beautiful state. Ensuring the protection of access to and use of our beaches is critically important to our way of life, our economy, and the soul of this state.
